In 1990, Ed spend a great deal of time working in the Pennsylvania Dutch country. It was at this time that they discovered the exceptional outdoor lawn furniture that the Amish were handcrafting. The attention to detail and the craftsmanship that they discovered was far superior then anything that you could buy elsewhere.

Ed developed a working relationship with some of the families and started bringing the furniture to Rochester, New York. It became clear that Ed couldn't get enough product to Rochester fast enough for the demand to be met and so the goal became to open a store in Rochester to support a wide range of Amish goods.

In April 2000 they opened "The Amish Outlet and Gift Shop", featuring not only outdoor but also a wide range of other Amish made products including: Storage sheds, Gazebos, cedar chests, wooden benches, etc. Since opening, they have added a wide range of additional unique gift items and indoor furniture from both Amish and traditional suppliers. The 12,000 square foot store and grounds have become a destination for western New Yorkers and beyond, who want the “feel” of Lancaster County Pennsylvania without the long drive.

It seems everyone has busy lives these days, so we will try now and in the future to show as much as we can of our products on our web site. But truly, it would be very nice if you could take a small break from your busy day just to come out, relax and browse around the store. I am sure you will see it was time well spent.
