Stationary Sofas: Timeless Comfort for Your Living Room

A stationary sofa isn’t about bells and whistles — it’s about lasting comfort, dependable design, and the kind of style that makes your living room feel like home. At Amish Outlet & Gift Shop, we carry quality sofas from trusted American makers like Best Home Furnishings and Lancer Furniture, built to handle real life with ease.

Why Choose a Stationary Sofa?

Unlike recliners or motion sofas, a stationary sofa stays put. That simple design brings several benefits:

  • Durability: Fewer moving parts mean fewer repairs.

  • Versatility: Works in small spaces or large rooms.

  • Budget-friendly: Often more affordable than motion seating.

  • Style options: From classic rolled arms to modern box arms, there’s a look for every home.

  • Easy maintenance: Cushions and fabrics hold up better without mechanical stress.

Customizing Your Sofa to Fit Your Home

One of the biggest advantages of choosing a stationary sofa from Lancer or Best Home Furnishings is the level of customization available. These aren’t “one-size-fits-all” couches.

  • Best Home Furnishings offers over 700 fabric choices, from family-friendly performance fabrics to supple leathers. Many of their sofas, like the Jelsea and Trafton, can also be configured with modular pieces or design details that fit your room’s layout.

  • Lancer Furniture provides a similar range, with hundreds of fabric and leather options, multiple pillow and trim styles, and different finishes for exposed legs. That means your sofa isn’t just comfortable — it’s tailored to your taste.

Whether you prefer a neutral tone that blends into your décor or a bold pattern that makes a statement, both brands give you the tools to create upholstered furniture that’s truly your own.

What Makes a Quality Sofa?

When choosing a stationary sofa, keep an eye out for these construction details:

  • Solid hardwood frame (oak, maple, or beech preferred).

  • Corner-blocked joinery with glue and screws for long-term stability.

  • Durable suspension system such as coil or sinuous springs.

  • High-density foam cushions that keep their shape.

  • Performance fabrics or genuine leather for easy cleaning and longevity.

Both Lancer and Best Home Furnishings follow these standards — which is why we trust them and proudly carry their lines.

Design Your Sofa, Your Way

A stationary sofa is more than a piece of living room furniture — it’s the anchor of your home. That’s why we encourage you to come into the store, where our trained team can help you choose the sofa that’s right for you. Options change over time — new fabrics and styles are added, while others are retired — so visiting in person is the best way to see what’s current.

Bring along photos of your existing furniture or even a sketch of your room layout. That way, we can help you select the right size, fabric, and design to fit seamlessly into your home.
